After looking through PiHome website I decided that this is just what I need to improve my existing controls – Heatmizer. The price and all functions are unbeatable. I was looking around but could not find any other option.
My old System
Downstairs: 7 zone underfloor heating with heating manifold – heatmizer underfloor controller and wired thermostats ( 5 of them faulty).
Upstairs: One Zone radiator controlled by a zone valve.
Hot Water: One Zone controlled by a zone valve.
My PiHome installation
9 Wireless temperature sensors
3 Zone controller
Raspberry Pi 3 with PiHome installed on SSD
Wireless Smart Home Gateway
The installation was straight forward as I did use downstairs the old controller – just wired in 2 PiHome zone controllers – on the links of old thermostats.
For upstairs and hot water I did use 1 PiHome Zone Controller – wired in the switched live of each valve ( upstairs zone and hot water).
Thank you PiHome

Superb!
I’m about to embark on a similar heatmiser conversion. The only thing worrying me at the moment is that the existing thermostats contain floor temperature sensors to protect the flooring so I’m trying to work out if there’s going to be any way to feed this into the system.
Ivor,
can you read temperature reading from floor sensor? or what model of heatmiser you have?
Apologies! didn’t see this reply. 🙁
The existing main box is the Heatmiser UH8-RF, with the wireless Slimline-RF controllers. The floor ones on those have thermostats wired into the floor going to the controller, I assume it’s a basic analogue output. Due to the type of flooring laid it has a “max permitted temperature” which is set on the wireless controller, that way the controller can cut the heating even if the room temp isn’t high enough but the floor is over temp.
First of all thanks for reading.
I planed to use pihome for a multizone infrared heating system in our holiday-home. (for some extra comfort in Bedrooms & bathroom)
Main heating is a stove and Hot water is provided by a geyser so not possible to integrate within pihome.
Within this configuration the boiler-button is no longer needed.
How can I hide this boiler-button on the home page?
Thanks in advance,
Christo
